M&M's Wedding

We headed to Roswell, NM on Friday for Mark and Macie's wedding. Brad and Mark went to Ok State together, and Mark was the best man at our wedding. He is pretty much the last of their crowd to tie the knot, so most of his college buds showed up for the occasion! Believe it or not, the wedding colors were orange and red--orange for Ok State, and red for Texas Tech (the Coll's team of choice, apparently) Mark's brother, Steve, and his wife, Callie, were kind enough to let the three of us crash at their beautiful home. A good-ole-time was had by all, and Brad really enjoyed seeing some good friends he hadn't seen for a long time. As for Garrett, he did great--we were up at 2am for our flight, and the flight from Atlanta to NM was almost 4 hours. From there, we still had a 3 hour drive ahead of us. We stayed up late (REALLY late for us) pretty much every night, and he was an excellent little social guy. No surprises there!

"The guys": Wes, Mike, Brad, Mark, Nick and Steve

Callie and Steve, who were nice enough to open their home to us (and are newlyweds themselves!)

Yay for swings!

I don't have the foggiest idea how I would survive life with a little one without a swing. That is pretty much the only way I can get Garrett to sleep at home (other than at night, when he sleeps like a champ). Anyhoo, I have been harassing Brad for weeks to get a mini-version of our Aquarium swing that folds up and could go to work with Garrett and I (the only hard part about taking him to work is getting him to sleep--he used to snooze in his sling, but now he is outgrowing the cradle hold and has to be moving CONSTANTLY to stay asleep!) . . . Brad finally caved on Wednesday, as it has been a crazy week and I was completely sleep deptrived! Garrett tried it out this morning at work, and loved it! He was quiet content to be wrapped up and swinging, and was asleep in no time. Thank you, Fisher Price take along swing! (Oh, and Brad too :-D)

So here is a picture of Garrett enjoying his big swing at home--it is his favorite (and only) place to nap, other than in my arms! Notice those cute lil foots sticking out. Brad calls him the next great magician--I wrap him up nice and tight, and he ends up with limbs out all over the place. I maintain it is his wiggly nature, and not my less than perfect swaddling skills!

In other news, we are off to New Mexico in the morning . . . we are off to see M&M (no, not those yummy coated candies, but rather Mark and Macie, who are getting married!) And I do mean morning--we have to be gone by 3am! Yikes. Hopefully Garrett will travel as well this time as he did the first time. Poor Aspen and Haylee are being left behind, in the very capable hands of a good friend. They maintain it is descrimination for the airlines to deny them a seat because they have four legs instead of two! Poor poochies!

My sweet boys

We had a rough day yesterday--Garrett said napping was for the birds, and I was in desperate need for one! He made up for it by sleeping 12 hours last night, and going back down for a nap as easy as could be this morning. Aspen loves to cuddle close when we are nursing . . . Garrett fell asleep, and this is the result--my sweet boys. Even though one of em has two legs and the other has four, they really have a lot in common! Haylee was at the foot of the bed--she likes her own space!

HOW in the world does he do it??

My son routinely starts his evenings out with his feet pointed one direction in his crib, and in the middle of the night has managed to do a 180 and have his feet pointing in the opposite direction. And then sometimes he manages to return to his original position by morning. I would LOVE to know what the little poop dreams about! What a wiggle butt. He continues to sleep through the night . . . guess he gets that from Daddy!

Spent most of the day working or running errands . . . we were supposed to have agility this evening, but we got rained out :-( Haylee and I were so disappointed. Class is at a perfect time though--it starts at 8:30, so I will be able to put Garrett to bed before Haylee and I go so I won't miss too much. Yay! It is shocking me how fast my little man is growing up. He will be 3 months on the 28th. As for our "pictures of the day", check out the pics below . . . the first was at 3 days, the second was at two months. Garrett and I had a chat in the tub the other day--I asked him not to grow up. I don't think he's listening!

Just another Monday

We had a pretty relaxing weekend at home. Caught up on some housework and spent some quality time together as a family. We TRIED to go boating, but it didn't happen . . . oh well, next weekend maybe! Garrett STILL hasn't been swimming in the ocean.

We did put Garrett's exercauser together. His little foots don't QUITE touch the ground yet, but he really enjoys being able to sit up in it and see the world. Daddy also pushes him around, which is quiet fun too. At any rate, he thinks he is a big boy.

Other than that, we finally finished painting the family room. The blue painters tape if FINALLY gone . . . I couldn't take it anymore!!

Garrett getting ready to head into work early Friday morning.

Daddy and Garrett (they look so much alike!)

Ohh, I like the red one!
(Garrett thinks the toybar is an excellent chew toy . . . Aspen is pretty interested in the teddybears for the same reason! :-D)

Okay, mom, really, ENOUGH with the camera already!!

Till next time everyone!! Puppy kisses and baby drool!

If a picture is worth a thousand words

Boy are we all in trouble. I pick up a camera and I CAN'T stop taking pictures of my son. The faces are too cute! AND the bibs outfit sported in most of these pics is the first outfit with pants he is finally fitting into (0-3 months . . . bout time since he is 2.5 already!) Sooo, here we go. No words needed, right?? Except maybe TOO CUTE (Oh, wait, I said that already)!
Super Garrett! (this is his favorite way to see the world)

Look at my fishie face! I love you fishie!
Go on mom, take another picture for Grandma Sherry and Grandma Becky!

A little smile

And a big smile!

And this concludes my pictures for the day. Sadly, that isn't even half of em, but I need to go wash diapers so we have some to take to work tomorrow!

Garrett's First Agility Lesson

Today my little man went to his first agility class . . . Haylee and I are trying to get back into the swing of things, and she is doing wonderfully. Now only if her momma could learn to handle. Garrett did great for the rather long evening--he just chilled out and watched the puppies have a good time. Appearing in an agility ring near you in a few years!

Off to bed--we are all headed into the office tomorrow. Makes for a longgggg day! But first: Picture of the day--Aspen being his usual self, hanging out with his favorite baby. This dog REALLY loves this baby!

Time to join the 21st Century

Blogging seems to be the latest craze. . . and what better way to keep our family and friends updated on the goings-on of our utterly crazy household? Garrett's website doesn't have nearly enough room for all the pictures we have taken, and we can't match the stories with the pictures. Plus the question becomes "Where do we put all the pictures of the pups!" Goodness knows there are plenty of stories when you have a two-and-a-half month old baby, a four and a half year old Jack Russell, and a 2 year old weimaraner puppy (Aspen will probably be a puppy forever--can anyone say ROTTEN GREY DOG?). And thus the name of our blog . . . UTTER CHAOS. There is absolutely no better way to describe life in this family. So here we go, blogging our very first blog. But chaos is a wonderful thing. Life would be a big bore without it. So happy reading and hugs from all of us down here in South Florida! (The picture above is Garrett is his PJs at 2 months, one day. Mommy forgot to take a picture on his two month birthday!)

Garrett in his favorite Froggie towel. Given to him by Uncle Dick and Aunt Beth. Notice the protruding lip . . . he loves baths and is always very, very sad when they are over.

Garrett has been TRYING to roll over. So far, though, this is as far as he gets. He gets mad and starts to cry about it!
